John Estrada, who was last seen on the Kapamilya teleserye “The Good Son,” has officially become a Kapuso.
KAMI learned that the veteran actor signed a contract with GMA Network today, May 2.
According to GMA News, the actor was welcomed by Senior Vice President for Entertainment Content Group Lilybeth Rasonable and Vice President for Drama Redgie Magno.
John said that he is excited by the challenges that his career move gives him and by his first project with the Kapuso network.
"It's a fact naman na men love challenges. As we mature, siyempre marami pang gustong patunayan sa sarili mo. At sa GMA, maganda, interesting 'yung mix of content and of course, bagay sa akin 'yung versatility na ino-offer nila…
"But itong first project ko, dito ako sobrang excited dahil napakaganda. If I am not mistaken, this is the biggest project of GMA this year. Pagpasensiyahan niyo na ako, 'yung revelation nito dapat perfect timing kasi nga malaking-malaking proyekto. I'm really looking forward to it. I just want to say that it is all worth the wait," John explained.
He also revealed that his former MTB co-host Willie Revillame, who he had a falling out with before being reconciled, reacted to his career move by inviting him on “Wowowin.”
"Sa 'Wowowin,' ang kaibigan kong si Willie, hindi naman ako makahindi dahil kahit gusto kong humindi, hindi ako makahindi... but I was one of the judges sa 'Will to Win' grand finals, so sana abangan niyo rin 'yan," the actor revealed.
John Estrada made headlines last month after rumors surfaced online that he had a conflict with Mylene Dizon, his co-star on “The Good Son.”
According to the rumor, John was slapped by Mylene for being rude.
However, the actor has completely denied the allegation.
KAMI believes that John will be an asset for GMA!
