- Story of the struggles of an OFW based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
- Her hardships in life started when she was only 6 years old when her mother left them
- Her child gives her hope and motivates her to succeed in life
Our letter sender is from Che, 25 years old, who came from a broken family, third child of 5 siblings.
KAMI learned that at the early age of 6, Che already witnessed the harsh reality of life when their mother left them.
During that time, Che thinks that her mother left them because of poverty.
According to Che, who looks up to her kind father, they tried to visit their mother but failed because they were asked to leave, "isang beses sumama ako sa tatay ko na puntahan si nanay, sakit sa damdamin ng maisip ko kahit bata pa ako pinag tabuyan lang kami ng parang hindi kami kilala"
One day, Che was given the chance to meet her mother again. Since she also longs for her mother's love and affection she agreed to meet her again.
However, since her mother has another family of her own, it's hard for her to give the needs of Che, like sending her back to school.
So Che experienced working different jobs just to survive.
She had a textmate who also became her husband and they were blessed with a child.
But things between them didn't worked out well because according to Che her husband is abusing her physically and verbally.
So when she was given the chance to work abroad she grabbed it right away, first to give her child a better future and also for her peace of mind.
Right now, Che is working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but it seems like hardships will always be a part of her life.
According to Che, her employers are not feeding her well and would often curse at her.
Language barrier is one of the biggest problems. She would often cry and think of her child so that she will be able to endure all her struggles.
"iiyak nalang ako sa sulok naalala ko anak para sayo to anak . Kaya ko to ngayon paba ako susuko sabi ko sa sarili"
