- Bongbong Marcos has started the manual vote recount following his election protest filed against Vice President Leni Robredo
- The former senator alleged that he found wet ballots in Camarines Sur
- He also stated that they cannot find the audit logs
Bongbong Marcos has already started the manual vote recount of ballots as part of the election protest which he filed against Vice President Leni Robredo.
KAMI learned that the former senator raised the issue of finding wet ballots and "missing" audit logs in Camarines Sur.
According to a GMA report, Marcos declared to reporters that all ballots at the Municipality of Bato in the said province were all found wet.
He also mentioned that the wet ballots would therefore mean that the ballots were opened.
"Hindi namin maintindihan papaano, imposible naman siguro na dalawang taong basa 'yan. Palagay ko, kailangan talaga pag-aralan kung paano nangyari 'yan. Ibig sabihin kasi kung may nagbasa, may nagbukas nung ballot box," said the former senator.
"Bakit walang audit log? Ibig sabihin binuksan 'yung ballot boxes, kinuha 'yung audit log. At hindi namin makita," Marcos added.
He added that they have to find a way to recover the audit logs. His camp also mentioned that such concerns with the ballots and the logs will be manifested in their objections.
The former senator further alleged that the ballot boxes were "unsecured" before the actual reopening date on Monday.
According to him, the containers were sealed but there was allegedly one box that had a hole, a crack on the side and the hole patched by masking tape.
Marcos also stated that the proceedings were rather slow during the first day of the recount.
Bongbong Marcos lost to Vice President Leni Robredo during the May 2016 elections.
Robredo won by 263,473 votes, prompting Marcos to immediately file his protest a day before VP Leni took office.
Three provinces pointed out by Marcos for recount include Camarines Sur, Iloilo and Negros Oriental.
