If Toni Gonzaga had her way, she will not let her son Seve enter show business at all.
Toni revealed to PUSH that she wants baby Seve to have an uncomplicated life, away from the heartaches and pains of the industry.
"I guess because I've been here and parang feeling ko all my life and I've been through so much in the industry. I know how it works. I just want him to explore something different," said Toni.
The host-actress said she doesn't want her child to go through what she went through as a celebrity.
"Because it's such a tough business and there's so much heartaches and pains and exposing him to that... parang of course as a mother you want to shield him as much as possible," said Toni.
The celebrity mom said she wants to give Seve a normal life.
"I want him to grow up in a normal setting, yung normal life. I know it's hard but we are trying our best to kind of balance it. Yes he's our son and in a way napunta siya sa limelight. Sana mas malaki yung part ng buhay niya na normal siya, normal yung childhood niya," said Toni.
But if Seve eventually decides to join showbiz when he's older, Toni said she and Paul would not decide against it.
"Sabi namin ni Paul that is something we don't want to close our doors on, but if it was my opinion and my choice of course I wouldn't want him to join the business. I would want him to pursue another different path or career. But you know I don't want to control him also," said Toni.
To help open up Seve to different opportunities in the future, Toni and Paul have already enrolled him in different classes.
"Whatever it is that his heart desires, we will just support it fully. But we enroll him to different classes now so para mahanap niya kung saan yung interests niya, yung passion niya and we will take it from there," said Toni.
Toni gave birth to Severiano Elliot on September 30, 2016.
The one-year-old is one of the most popular celebrity baby in showbiz. He has a strong following on his own Instagram account.
Toni married Paul Soriano, her boyfriend of eight years, on June 12, 2015.
