- The agency warned the public that these fake tablets are dangerous to one's health
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the public against fake Biogesic paracetamol tablets that are currently being sold in the market.
According to a report from ABS-CBN, the agency released an advisory on March 16, showing the difference in color, print, and pattern of the design of the real Biogesic versus the fake ones.
Based on the photos released by the FDA, the color of the fake tablets are darker compared to the real ones.
The FDA advises the public to purchase medicines only from reputable drugstores since these fake tablets can be dangerous to one's health.
Consumers should also take note that Biogesic has already released a new packaging, the agency said.
Establishments were also warned against the selling of fake tablets as this is an act of direct violation of Special Law on Counterfeit Drug.
To make a report of verified establishments selling counterfeit medicine, you may contact FDA at (02) 809-5596.
