- Karla Estrada got emotional seeing her kids enjoying a trip in the US
- The single mother had to raise her four children on her own
- Single mothers shared how much Karla inspired them in their own struggles
It's no secret how Karla Estrada had clawed her way through years as a single mother raising four kids while also keeping her showbiz career afloat.
The singer-actress gave birth to Daniel Padilla at the age of 20. Daniel's father, Rommel Padilla, was not present during the birth because he was in prison.
Karla brought DJ to see Rommel in prison when he was three years old.
Eventually, Karla also had three more children, Jose Carlito, Margaret, and Carmella. They have different fathers.
Despite having no partner to raise her children with, Karla pushed on bravely.
"Wala akong room para mag-drama. Hindi ko ine-entertain iyong mga malulungkot na side. Wala akong time for that. Kasi I need to work, kailangan kong magtrabaho ulit," said Karla in a 2017 interview with ABS-CBN.
Now, she and her kids are enjoying a better life, thanks to the successful career of Daniel, and the resurgence of her own showbiz career.
On March 24, Karla looked back on her struggles and how life has changed for her family in a heartfelt Instagram post.
She shared a photo of her two sons, Daniel and Carlito, who are both in Las Vegas for Kapamilya show.
"Parang kelan lang mga anak buwis Buhay pa ako sa pag papalaki sa inyo. Ngayon, malaya na kayong namamasyal sa ibang lugar. Enjoy mga anak At gawing makabuluhan ang inyong kabataan. Andito lang ako nakatanaw sa inyo At nakangiti... salamat Po Ama sa Buhay na mapayapa At masaya," said Karla in her post.
The post was well-received by Karla's fans who saw her as an inspiration as a single parent.

consejo_v: Hi Karla, I just wanted to say how inspiring you are to single mums. I’m a single mum of 2 boys myself and I can relate so much with all the struggles that you’ve been through while raising them. My boys are grown already and we have a very comfortable life now but we went through very dark times as well. You are such a shining example of faith, perseverance and a good heart. Also, I wanted to say that you are beautiful no matter what size. I love your confidence in your body and that I take inspiration in that too. I’m from Australia and if one day you find yourself in my part of the world, I will be more than happy to extend some Aussie hospitality to you and yours.

"Sanayin mo iyong mga anak mo na kahit masakit man, sabihin mo iyong totoo. Maging totoo tayo sa mga anak natin," said Karla.
Karla shot to fame in 1987 as part of the popular musical variety show That's Entertainment. She was 15 years old.
When she was 18 years old, she looked for her father who later apologized for not knowing about her birth.
