Former Gilas player Marc Pingris is now recovering after his successful anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery.
The Pinoy Sakuragi posted a thank you message for his supporters on Instagram.
He wrote: "Going home today Thank you Lord and to everyone who prayed for me. Salamat ng marami sa inyo! #pusongpingris #pinoysakuragi15"
The Magnolia Hotshots player was injured on March 10 during their semifinal game against NLEX Road Warriors.
His wife, Danica Sotto-Pingris, also thanked fans who prayed for March.
She wrote: "Thank you again to everyone who prayed for Marc. His procedure went well and he is home already. Grateful for all your messages and words of encouragement."
The cutest thing, though, is Danica coupled her message with a drawing from their son, Mic.
"Saw this drawing in Mic's book last night. You really are his hero," Danica wrote.
Marc Pingris plays power forward for Magnolia Hotshots in the Philippine Basketball Association.
The 36-year-old hails from Pozorrubio, Pangasinan.
He played for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws during college.
He was drafted in the PBA in 2004. His first team was FedEx Express.
He is married to actress Danica Sotto. They have a son named Jean Michael and a daughter named Anielle Micaela.
Marc got his nickname "Sakuragi" from the anime Slam Dunk. It was his favorite anime and the protagonist Hanamichi Sakuragi is his favorite cartoon character.
