- Luis Manzano rightfully expressed his freedom of expression online as he responded to a netizen who degraded separated husbands and wives
- The netizen questioned the morality of couples who experienced failed marriages and decided to separate
- Lucky argued that loving and supporting their children is not all about the religion, and sarcastically praised the commenter, saying he was ‘perfect’
Luis Manzano once again put a basher in to place with what he does extremely well: sarcasm. On his Twitter account, the actor-host addressed an issue that is close to his heart: separated couples being judged and stereotyped because of religion.
A tweet has gained the attention of Luis, as it called out divorced and separated couples’ morality and validity of their faith in contrast to their failed marriage and decision to separate.
One netizen, under the Twitter username @suemissumitz, tweeted: “Anyare sa morality nating mga Pinoy?! Despite separating as husband and wife, ang mahalaga di sila maghiwalay as parents?! Really?! So what abt the sanctity of marriage?! Aren’t we a Catholic country?”
The tweet also suggested that married couples should stay married because it is what Catholism teaches, as well as to love and take care of their children.
Luis called out the comment and mocked its logic—or lack thereof. He quoted the tweet and asked: “Would you prefer maghiwalay rin sila in terms of supporting and loving their child? Lahat ng couples nagkakatuluyan kahit ano pang religion?”
As a cherry on top, Manzano made his point clear and assumed that perhaps this netizen does not sin at all. “Ano address niyo po? Langit? Perfect po kayo e.”
The netizen has deleted the account and the tweet is no longer available for viewing.
Luis’ parents, actor-politician Edu Manzano and Batangas Congresswoman Vilma Santos have separated in 1982 after being married for two years.
This is not the first time the actor-host has exposed a basher on his social media accounts. Over time, Manzano gained the popularity of being notorious in engaging with bashers by calling them out once they cross over the line of using their freedom to express and just plain bashing online.
