Xander Ford surprised Filipinos with his surprising transformation in 2017.

First revealed on magazine show Rated K, Xander underwent a series of cosmetic changes and operations to change his appearance.

Together with his physical change, he also changed his name. He was formerly known as Marlou Arizala.

The surgeon who operated on him is Dr. Eric Yapjuanco of The Icon Clinic.

PUSH recently interviewed Doc Eric about Xander Ford.

"I am very happy for Xander and I am very proud of what he has achieved with his career so far," he said.

However, despite the physical change, Xander is still a polarizing figure on social media.

He still has a lot of bashers, not just about his looks, but also about his seemingly attention-seeking tactics for publicity.

Despite all that, his doctor wishes him the best for his career.

"I hope and pray that he continues to aspire for his dreams because I know that his main motivation in life is to give his family a better life," said Doc Eric.

Xander made headlines again recently after he posted a photo of his cut wrist.

Fans gave him comforting words and supportive comments, especially because it looked like Xander was undergoing depression.

Xander, when he was still known as Marlou, rose to social media prominence as a member of the now-disbanded boy band Hasht5.

The group amassed a surprising amount of followers and fans. However, they also gathered an equal amount of hate and online bullying, particularly for their physical appearance.

On February 2, Guhit Pinas member and artist Aubrey So took away her life due to depression. This video is to pay tribute to Aubrey and to raise awareness about mental health. Rest in peace, Aubrey.
