Veteran actor Bernardo Bernardo passed away today, March 8. He was 73 years old.

KAMI learned that the stage, television and screen actor had tumors in his pancreas.

According to PEP.ph, his friends in the industry raised funds for Bernardo’s treatment and medical expenses.

He was best known for his role as Steve Carpio in the Kapamilya comedy series “Home Along Da Riles” from 1992 to 2003, which starred the late comedy legend Dolphy, Nova Villa, Claudine Barretto, Vandolph Quizon, Babalu, Gio Alvarez and Smokey Manaloto.

Bernardo also won the Best Actor award at the Gawad Urian for his performance in the 1980 movie “City After Dark.”

The actor also played the character Don Alvaro in “Ang Larawan,” which was included in the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.

His other projects include Purgatoryo, Whistleblower, Chain Mail, Ronda, Father & Son, and Flordeluna.
