Davao City Mayor and presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte and Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison were seen having a video chat online in a YouTube video posted by Kilab Multimedia.
The video was also uploaded in the Facebook page of Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV. The video is titled "Duterte-Joma Sison Alliance confirmed. As of press time, the video on Trillanes' page has 7,635 shares.
One of the netizens expressed his dissatisfaction about the video and said:
"I am still developing my stand on many issues, but when it comes to the economy, I've been consistently on the center-right.
This Joma Sison connection is unsettling, not just because I am afraid of a communist in Malacañang, but because I've seen how extreme left governments have ravaged the economies of some of the world's economies.
They say, it's better this way because at least they are part of the system. At least, we are taking them away from their arms and the bloody revolution they have been fighting.
But at what cost? Handing over the reins of our government to the extreme left?
Besides, the left has been in government for so long - in Congress and now, it seems like some of them will even win Senate seats. I did, in fact, voted for many of them. This Joma Sison direct access to Malacañang though is extremely scary especially since we have absolutely no idea what Duterte's economic policies will be. Will Joma Sison be our Senior Economic adviser?
The Hugo Chavez comparisons are fair and downright scary."
