21 year-old Brina Maxino, a young lady with down syndrome shared her amazing and inspiring success story on her facebook page.

KAMI learned from Push that in her short but meaningful post, Brina said that when she was still 9 days old, doctors already informed her parents that she might not live long because of her very bad condition.

When she was 11 years old, psychologists told her parents that she might not finish Grade School.

But now, she graduated from College with a degree of AB History from CAP College Foundation, Inc.

Not only that, she also graduated from a 2-year course in Associate Arts and 1 year course in General Clerical Skills.

She's also a Special Oylmpics Global Youth Ambassador which gives her a reason to travel abroad, and to deliver inspiring speeches here and there.

She also said words of gratitude to all who have supported her all through out her journey to become what she is right now.

Brina gave a piece of advice to PWDs like her, "believe in yourselves and pray to God always. You can do it. Just study and work hard."

She also gave a message to everyone, "To everyone --- please respect us and accept us. Please do not call us names like mongoloid, idiot, moron, stupid or retarded. It hurts us. Please be kind to us. Our disability does not mean inability. We can be useful members of society. Cheers to all Persons with Down Syndrome!"

She ended her post by greeting Happy Down Syndrome Consciousness Month!

Briana now works an assistant Teacher at Pean Integrated School of Parañaque.

As of press time, her post already reached 112,000 reactions.

Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder wherein the mental ability of a young adult with this condition is only similar to an 8 year-old child.

Since this case has no cure, only proper care and guidance should be given to them.

It is truly and amazing story that Brina was able to graduate and also to work because the expected ability of people with this condition is only up to secondary education.

KAMI believes that with patience, hardwork and determination, nothing is impossible in achieving your dreams.
