- Liza Soberano was bashed by netizens after being cast in “Bagani”
- Comedienne Ethel Booba came to her defense
- She stressed that the series is set in a fantasy world and not in pre-colonial Philippines
Ethel Booba took to social media to express her frustration over the bashers who have criticized Liza Soberano’s casting in “Bagani.”
Those bashers are furious because they mistakenly thought that the teleserye is set in pre-colonial Philippines.
KAMI learned that the comedienne clarified that the series is set in a fantasy world like “Game of Thrones.”
Ethel pointed out that Liza's casting is similar to Marian Rivera's casting in "Encatadia," which is also set in a fantasy world.
She also commented on the netizens who bashed Liza for writing that her love for sinigang is one of the things that makes her a true Pinay.
“Bagani” will replace Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s teleserye “La Luna Sangre.”
The fantasy series also stars Enrique Gil, Sofia Andres, Matteo Guidicelli and Makisig Morales.
Many netizens complained about the casting because they were not aware that it is set in a fantasy world and not in pre-colonial Philippines.
