A Pinay caretaker was reported missing after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hits the east coast of Taiwan.
The initial onsite report is that there is a Filipina caretaker in one of the buildings who is still missing, so they're searching in the area," said Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Chair Lito Banayo during his interview with ANC's Dateline.
KAMI learned from Rappler that impact of the earthquake caused the buildings to fall down in the city of Halien, where some people were trapped inside.
Their government confirmed that the quake caused 2 deaths and 200 injured.
MECO chair said that they have already sent people to Taiwan to check if there are Filipinos admitted in their hospitals, but they none was reported as of press time.
(OWWA) Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac confirmed that they are strictly monitoring the situation and will give a reliable updates to the family of the OFWs in Taiwan.
