- Paolo Duterte resigned his post as vice mayor of Davao City on December 25, 2017
- A few weeks after, photos of his vacation with his family surfaced
- The son of President Rodrigo Duterte was involved in a number of controversies
Nothing like going away to another country to escape the heat of political pressure.
Take it from presidential son Paolo Duterte who went on a two-country vacation with his family weeks after stepping down as vice mayor of Davao City.
On January 31, his daughter Sabina shared photos of their vacation in South Korea and China.
Their first destination is the wintry South Korea, where they enjoyed playing in the snow.
Sabina captioned her photos, which were apparently taken on January 25: "We're back to Korea with my family... papi, mom and uno only (with ninong..) yehey!! 1st destination #Korea"
They also went to Beijing, China.
Their third destination is Shanghai, also in China.
This is Paolo Duterte's second family. He married his long-time girlfriend and second wife, January Navares, on December 2010.
He has two children with January: 11-year-old Sabina and 5-year-old Paolo II.
Before resigning on December 25, the former vice mayor was embroiled in a heated public spat with his daughter from his first marriage, Isabelle.
Isabelle accused Paolo of abusing his authority as Davao official and hurting one of her friends. The presidential granddaughter made her accusations through Facebook.
Polong defended himself, also on Facebook, and alleged that Isabelle was being used by her friends.
Paolo is also implicated in the 6.4 billion shabu smuggling case being investigated in the Senate.
He has since denied all allegations.
