Alice Dixson was one of the celebrities who delivered a eulogy for Direk Mario J. Delos Reyes funeral service.
The 48 year-old actress shared how the director invested so much time, effort and trust to her when she was just starting in showbiz.
“Of course, I was the worst actress when I started.
“I was actually a pretty face, but Direk invested in me.
“He really spent time, he spent tears, love, he shared his passion, he shared his creativity and he shared himself,” recalled Alice.
Because of that, Alice also encouraged the audience to follow what good deeds the director has started.
“He’s a teacher. Mag-share din tayo ng gifts natin like he did—share our time with others, share our passion, our love, our dreams, our vision to other people.”
Another revelation is that she even told Direk Mario that she had a crush on him.
This happened on the 2nd day of their shooting. The Director just smiled back.
She was 18 he was 38 then.
“That crush became an admiration, and that admiration became inspiration that I brought with me all throughout my career."
“But I really looked up to him. He was like my inspiration.”
Her last conversation with the director was days before he died.
“He asked me if I could be in a project with him.
“May gagawin na naman siyang pelikula and, of course, I was excited.
“This movie would be like our comeback.
"And we talked about love, we talked about lost, and I know where he was coming from, and I really wanted to do this movie with him.
“But days later, I found out [about] the sad news, and I realized na hindi na natin siya makakasama.”
The 65 year-old award-winning director died last January 27 due to heart attack.
This sad news happened at the party he attended in Dipolog City.
The inurnment will be on Saturday, February 3.
