- Melissa explains why they gave Dina a house and lot
The news about an OFW who works as a nanny in UAE and received a house and lot from her employer went viral.
KAMI reported earlier about Dina Tenerife Celo and her generous and kind employer Melissa McPike.
Now Melissa and her two sons, Saeed and Saif al Muhairi, admit that they're a bit overwhelmed by the attention given to them, which ABS-CBN reported.
They gave Dina more than P400,000 to buy a lot and build a house.
Melissa explained that they just wanted to help Dina and her family and the attention was not something they expected.
"It is a little overwhelming, a little embarrassing. We obviously did not do it for attention. We just wanted to do something nice for Dina…so yeah, it is a little strange."
Her son Saeed shares the same feeling.
"I feel good. It’s a little embarrassing doing all these interviews and stuff because we just wanted to do something nice for someone. We were not expecting the media frenzy," Saeed explained.
Dina worked with Melissa's family since 1998 until 2001 then 2014 up to present.
"Dina is very humble. She is very shy. She is very trustworthy and she is very giving of her time," Melissa said.
Saeed will be forever grateful to their nanny Dina for raising him and his brother Saif.
"For sure she has taught me to be a better person and to always be loving and accepting and to do what makes you happy. And she taught me also how to make chicken adobo," he said.
Dina's only child, Ryan Celo is also very thankful to her mother's employer.
Hindi po nila pinababayaan," Ryan said, an OFW in Abu Dhabi.
However, Dina had a terrible experience with her first employer in Saudi Arabia.
She was violated by her first employer, got pregnant and gave birth to Ryan Celo.
She has an inspiring message to everyone who is also going through tough times.
