With her 87.4 mark, Rachel Angeli Miranda topped a list of 1,731 successful examinees of last year’s Bar examinations.
Although she did not expect to be the top passer, Miranda said she worked hard to prepare for the Bar examinations. Miranda shared in an interview by GMA 7 that she found out that she topped from a friend through Facebook.
"Kala ko niloloko niya lang ako. Pero totoo pala," said Miranda.
In another interview by ABS-CBN News Channel on Tuesday, Miranda said: “I could not believe it because all I was looking for was to pass”.
“I’d still be surprised even if I did not top the bar. Just passing it is already a surprise. It is really difficult. We barely had less than six months to study for the bar. We didn’t have enough time to prepare for it,” she said.
Miranda finished a journalism degree in UP Diliman in 2010.
The Bar exams is believed to be the most difficult of all licensure examinations.
A total of 7,146 Bar candidates took the exams at the University of Sto. Tomas in November last year, but only 6,600 managed to finish all four Sundays of the exams that started on November 8, 2015.
