Malakas ang laban! Michele Gumabao impresses in first Bb. Pilipinas Q&A video

- Star volleybelle Michele Gumabao is among the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 hopefuls

- The De La Salle University graduate showcased her intelligence in the introductory question and answer video

- She talked about her inexperience in beauty pageants and her advocacy for women in sports

Volleyball star Michele Gumabao proved she'll be one to watch in the upcoming Binibining Pilipinas pageant this year.

In a Facebook video by Bb. Pilipinas, Michele displayed her grace and wits in answering her first on-cam Q&A as a beauty pageant candidate.

The 25-year-old said she may be new to pageantry, but she's taking her inexperience as an opportunity to learn.

"I am admitting my inexperience, but I have watched beauty pageants, as do you guys - Binibining Pilipinas, Miss Universe, Miss International, all those international pageants - and I think I picked up quite a few things from them.

But I consider my inexperience actually as an opportunity for me. It's not a setback because I'm more open to people who want to teach me, coach me, who want to make me better than who I was when I first started training," said Michele.

Michele is training under Aces and Queens, the same training camp that produced Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

Michele also talked about her advocacy and organization.

The star player launched the MG Volleyball Camp in 2012. It's a 10-day volleyball summer program for aspiring athletes.

Michele and her fellow coaches train young athletes who want to experience competitive volleyball.

“If these children, these kids who want to be professional volleyball players, if they just start young, if they start early, they can hone their talents and it won’t be that much harder for them, like what I went through in college,” Gumabao shared.
