The Kapuso host wrote, “Is this your post @iamkarendavila? Can’t believe you didn’t even get our side... Halatang hindi mo kasi napanood o napakinggan eh at naki-tsismis ka lang. ‘Solidarity and courage’ ba kamo? Yun nga ang mensahe ng Balitawit ko. Eto ang refrain para sa kaalaman mo, “Panahon na naman ng paglaban Panahon na naman...Panahon na naman ng paglaban. Gumising ka Tara na!” Filipino yan. Pakitanong na lang kay Vic Lima ang ibig sabihin ng laban.”
Along with it was a hashtag #sakaysaissue.
Kapuso broadcasters Arnold Clavio, Mike Enriquez and Susan Enriquez were criticized for their radio show on Super Radyo DZBB for allegedly making fun of Rappler and Maria Ressa’s closure order.
They also hinted that ABS-CBN will be next according to The Summit Express.
Clavio sang a “balitawit” with the lyrics stating, “May narinig ako sa may Ignacia ay susunod na” to which Mike Enriquez blurted, “susunod na kayo.” Clavio continued amidst their laughters, “May narinig ako kay Maria Ressa na nauna na.”
The song continued, “Hindi mo na namamalayan? Wala ka bang nararamdaman? Ika ng hangin may panggigipit sa atin. Panahon na naman ng paglaban. Gumising ka media.”
This elicited mixed reactions from the netizens. There are some who think that they have been insensitive.

SEC ruled to revoke the Certificate of Incorporation of Rappler Inc. and Rappler Holdings Corp. in a decision which was dated January 11, 2018.
After conducting internal probe into Rappler's business registration and ownership, SEC declared the Omidyar Philippine Depositary Receipts as void.
According to Rappler Chief Maria Ressa the SEC’s ruling is a political attack on press freedom because according to her, the decision took only 5 months.
