- Maxene Magalona tied the knot with Rob Mananquil on January 11
- Her dad, Francis Magalona, died 9 years ago
- However, Maxene felt that her dad was somehow present at her wedding
Maxene Magalona got married to Rob Mananquil in Boracay on January 11.
KAMI learned from Maxene’s Instagram post that she felt her deceased father Francis Magalona’s presence at her wedding.
According to her story, Francis seemed to have made his presence felt through a brown butterfly that flew near her while walking down the aisle.
“It’s every girl’s dream to be given away by their father on their wedding day.
“Unfortunately, my dad @francismagalona passed away in 2009 due to leukemia so for my wedding march, I chose to walk down the aisle to one of his songs entitled, Girl Be Mine.
“Little did I know that he would actually be there with me in the form of a brown butterfly which flew right by me before I met my mom in the middle of the aisle.
“If you look closely, you’ll see it in this video beautifully captured by @allan_diones. Spot @robmananquil jumping up and down in excitement and rocking to my dad’s song”
Francis M was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2008.
He died on March 6, 2009.
Francis and his wife Pia had eight children, including Maxene and two stepkids.
KAMI wishes all the best for the family left behind by Francis!
