Coco Martin has huge 'utang na loob' towards Sen. Bong Revilla and family

Many didn't know it but the family of Sen. Bong Revilla contributed a lot in giving Coco Martin the boost he needed to have a budding career.

In a YouTube video, it reported that it was the Revillas who first noticed the talent of Coco Martin in acting.

Coco explained that when he was at the start of his career, it was really the Revilla family who trusted him, giving him a "kontrabida" role.

"Noong nagsisimula pa lang akong mag-artista, sila po ang kauna-unahan na nagtiwala sa akin dahil ako ang ginawa nilang kontrabida that time ni Jolo," said the 36-year-old actor.

Suffice to say that it was them who gave the actor, now director, his initial break in showbiz.

When Coco Martin was in Bacoor, Cavite, he didn't waste time in giving Mayor Lani Mercado a courtesy call.

Obviously, based on the photo, the actress turned public servant, was quite happy seeing Coco in their city.

"Parang anak na namin siya kasi nagsimula si Coco sa pelikulang 'Ang Agimat: Anting Anting ni Lolo,' support siya ni Jolo," said Lani.

So now that Coco Martin has somehow reached the pinnacle of success in showbiz, perhaps many are hoping that he won't be used as a tool by the Revillas to further their political agenda.

Coco Martin is a famous actor, who at present, has also become a director to a movie he actually produce.

The movie was "Ang Panday," an entry to the recent Metro Manila Film Festival.

He was praised by many of his colleagues in showbiz for his profound acting and directing skills in the movie.
