Candy Pangilinan got honest about the difficulties she faces as a single mother to her child with special needs.

She also talked on “Good Vibes” about her failed relationship with her husband.

KAMI learned from ABS-CBN News that Candy’s husband left her shortly after giving birth to their son Quentin.

“I just got separated during that time… after I gave birth, less than a month. Nag-golf ‘yung asawa ko, hindi na siya bumalik,” she recalled.

As for Quentin, Candy said that what hurts her the most is that her son is getting bullied for having special needs.

“He’s still under the spectrum of autism pero hindi mo masasabing full-blown autism siya kasi mayroon na siyang social skills pero mayroon pa rin siyang ADHD na may sensory integration problem…

“Sensory integration problem is usually hindi coordinated ‘yung nasa utak niya sa ginagawa ng katawan niya…

“Nung time na ‘yon, hindi pa nagsi-sink in sa akin na matindi pala ‘to. When I was going through therapy with my child, doon ko na-realize [na] ay panghabambuhay pala ‘to…

“’Yung nakikita mo ‘yung bata kapag birthday party, tapos lahat ng bata maglalaro tapos nakita mo ‘yung anak mo, walang nakikipaglaro…

“Tapos tatakbo sila, ang gagawin ni Quentin siya na lang ‘yung humahabol the whole time…

“Alam mong binu-bully siya, hahayaan mo lang kasi iniisip ko parati he has to go through this. Ito ‘yung reality niya e and it’s always like that until now…

“There was a time na naabutan ako ni Quentin na umiiyak… Sabi niya sa ’kin ‘mom, what’s the problem?’ Sabi ko, ‘you know Quentin, someone did something really bad to us.’

“Tanong niya sa ’kin ‘did you do something wrong?’ Sabi ko ‘no.’ Sabi niya sa’kin ‘it’s their problem.’”

She also urged other parents to love their children even if they have imperfections and flaws.

Candy is a film and television actress and comedienne.
