A lot of fans and followers have definitely missed Jessy Mendiola on TV and in movies. But this 2018, the Kapamilya star is set to make an explosive comeback in the entertainment scene.
Following her long showbiz hiatus, the 25-year-old Kapamilya star is excited to reveal her upcoming projects this year. KAMI learned that Jessy is set to appear on a teleserye and a movie.
In fact, Jessy was supposed to do a movie but it was postponed because of the holidays. But the postponement did not dampen Jessy’s hope when it comes to her career.
“Now mayroon akong newfound hope and it looks like 2018 will be really, really exciting,” Mendiola told ABS-CBN News.
“Yong TV series I think they are making one na,” she added. “Movies, mayroon akong isa pero hindi pa napu-push through kasi holidays na.”
Apart from her upcoming projects, Jessy also expressed her willingness to work with her ex-boyfriend, JM De Guzman. JM took a two-year hiatus from the industry after he entered rehab.
JM, however, is also set to make a showbiz comeback. In fact, he had met with Star Magic for an offer.
When asked about JM, Jessy said she is very “happy” for him. She added that she is willing to work with him as long as it is okay for the actor.
“I'm really happy for him,” Jessy said. “Lahat naman ng tao may pag-asang magbago so kung saan siya masaya, masaya ako para sa kanya.”
"Basta sa akin, as long as he is okay, he is happy, he has fully recovered and he is ready to work, good luck sa kanya,” she continued. “I am very happy for him too."
Meanwhile, Jessy also admitted that she once thought about leaving the showbiz industry. But her manager and Star Magic boss Johnny Manahan and boyfriend Luis Manzano stopped her.
“He [Johnny Manahan] told me parang ‘do not give up yet, you’re young and you have so much to do pa,’” Jessy stated last May.
“Kahit nga si Luis e sinasabi sa akin na wag mag give up,” she added. “It’s just you know yung feeling na you’ve been so beaten up and you just want to get away from everything.”
At the time, Jessy became a target of online bashing. However, the young star had learned not to give up and not to quit the industry.
