“The Voice of the Philippines” coach and world-renowned Broadway diva Lea Salonga cannot help herself but react to Senator Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian’s expletive social media tirade on Dec. 31.

With more than five million Twitter followers, Lea is definitely one of the most famous Filipino showbiz personalities on social media. The 46-year-old diva is also known for being opinionated online.

Considering that fact, it is not surprising to learn that Lea reacted on Win’s tweets. In fact, KAMI learned that Lea is fond of commenting on national and showbiz issues.

In a series of tweets, Lea reminded not only Win but also other celebrities, politicians and public figures to be aware of the words they use, especially on social media.

The Broadway star also said that public figures should “get out of the kitchen” if they cannot stand or handle the heat.

This means that they should learn to endure dealing with haters and bashers around them.

Lea’s reminders came after Win was lambasted over his expletive tweets on Dec. 31.

According to Rappler, it started when Win commented on the Liberal Party article of Rappler CEO and Executive Editor Maria Ressa.

Win, however, got furious when some netizens called him “balimbing” or a political turncoat and “trapo” or traditional politician.

These words led Win to respond with foul words such as stupid and deranged in Filipino.

If Lea reacted with a reminder, fellow senator and senate “seatmate” JV Ejercito defended Win from his bashers.

As per PhilStar, JV tweeted that Win’s outburst only proved that politicians are also “humans.”

He also remined Win that haters and bashers keep him grounded and inspire him to “work harder.”
