KAMI learned that Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber leads in the Breakout Stars last year. PEP recently reported about this.
Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber
After their stint in the Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7 edition in 2016, funny girl Maymay Entrata (Big Winner) and Filipino-German lad Edward Barber (fourth Big Placer) entered showbiz. The two were paired together and called "MayWard".
Many people have seen a spark in their love team that is why they were blessed with TV commercials, endorsements and even had their first movie together entitled "Loving In Tandem" with Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo.
Joshua Garcia first became a household name when he became a housemate in Pinoy Big Brother All In in 2014. He may not have been the Big Winner of that PBB season, but the 20-year-old Batangueño has become one of the most promising young actors today.
Joshua has been compared to dramatic actor John Lloyd Cruz, and many have commented that he exudes JLC's vibe. He really proved that he got the skills in acting. He can be watched now in the teleserye "The Good Son".
It was a brave decision for the young Iñigo Pascual to enter the industry first dominated by his father Piolo, as the comparisons were always sure to follow. But ABS-CBN ultimate leading man Piolo Pascual’s son is now proving that he has what it takes to become a star, particularly in the music industry.
Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez (AlEmpoy)
The movie of Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez, the romantic comedy Kita Kita, is definitely one of the biggest movies of 2017 and considered as the highest-grossing local indie movie.
It surpassed the P300-million mark when it earned P320 million. This is a feat considering that it was made with P10-million budget by Spring Films, an independent film outfit, which is a co-production between Piolo Pascual, Joyce Bernal, and Erickson Raymundo.
Moira dela Torre
This year has been good to Moira dela Torre, who’s slowly garnering raves for her music with so much “hugot” and her singing style. Though she is not a newbie, it is just recently that Moira got her share of the limelight in the music industry.
This singer-songwriter has been in the business for a decade already. The song “Titibo-Tibo” that she interpreted was declared the winner of the Himig Handog 2017 competition.
In the five years that Sanya Lopez has been in the business, she has indeed come a long way. In this short period of time, she has top-billed teleseryes and even bagged one of the four much-coveted protagonist roles in the 2016 remake of the GMA-7 telefantasya Encantadia.
She portrayed Sang’gre Danaya, one of the four guardians of the gem stones that possess magical powers in a fairy kingdom.
Ryza Cenon’s career took a turning point last year when she starred in the independent film Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23B which bagged some of the major awards at the 2016 QCinema International Film Festival, Best Director (Prime Cruz) and Best Supporting Actress (Vangie Labalan).
Currently, Ryza also stars in the ongoing Kapuso top-rating afternoon teleserye Ika-6 Na Utos, which also stars Sunshine Dizon and Gabby Concepcion.
Earlier this year, Jak Roberto’s role in the Kapuso primetime soap opera Meant To Be helped him boost his career. The older brother of Sanya Lopez would usually portray supporting roles and have TV guestings in his home network, and his role in Meant To Be was his biggest one yet.
His romance with Barbie Forteza, his leading lady in the aforementioned series, proved favorable to fans as well. The 24-year-old actor is expected to portray one of Glaiza de Castro's leading men in the 2018 afternoon teleserye Contessa.
Initially, what most people knew about Gil Cuerva was that he was a model. Then suddenly, this newbie starrred opposite Jennylyn Mercado, one of today’s A-list actresses, in a GMA-7 primetime teleserye. The said project is the adaptation of the highly-successful Korean TV series, My Love from the Star.
KAMI believes that these actors and actresses do have what it takes to be one of the best artists in showbiz industry!
