- Hundreds of Pinoy OFWs were stranded in Hong Kong
- The travel agency did not confirm their bookings for the holidays
- Pinay co-owner of said travel agency was arrested
The Pinay co-owner of the travel agency responsible for getting hundreds of Pinoy OFWs stranded in Hong Kong during the holidays was finally arrested by the HK police.
According to Kicker Daily, HK police arrested 39-year-old Rhea Donna Boyce.
She was charged with "conspiracy to defraud."
Rhea is the co-owner of Peya Travel Agency.
The other partner is her husband, Peter Bryan Boyce, who is an Australian.
Her husband has not yet been arrested, but would likewise be facing arrest if the result of the investigation would show that he was also involved in the said scam.
Rhea, together with her counsel, showed up to meet Philippine consulate officials last Saturday.
She, however, opted to remain silent.
The arrest followed after hundreds of Pinoy OFWs found out that their bookings were either non-existent or not confirmed.
These OFWs didn't get home in time for Christmas, to spend the holidays with their families.
Every year, many OFWs would get home for Christmas just so they could be with their loved ones.
