Every year, show business welcomes new faces and breakout stars. Some came from reality shows while others made it using their talents. KAMI learned about the winners from different competitions this 2017.
This year, we met the winners from a singing competition, reality shows and even celebrity game shows. ABS-CBN Entertainment recently reported about this. Let's have a look at some of the Kapamilya winners on shows and contests.
Maymay Entrata (Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7)
Teen Housemate Maymay Entrata made history this year when she won "Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7" which was the longest edition of the hit Kapamilya reality show. Dubbed as "Ms. Wacky-Go-Lucky ng Cagayan de Oro", Maymay took the heart of many people because of her jolly attitude. After her win, blessings did not end there as she was given a lot of commercials, projects and even a movie.
Noven Belleza (Tawag Ng Tanghalan)
Noven Belleza, a farmer from Negros Occidental won as the first champion at Tawag ng Tanghalan of the noon-time television show It's Showtime. Noven tried to audition at The Voice of the Philippines and Pilipinas Got Talent, but with no luck. He then got his luck at TNT and won a house and lot from Camella, 2 million pesos, a negosyo package, a recording contract with Star Music, a trophy and a GB musical instrument.
Awra Briguela (Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids)
Child star Awra Briguela was the first winner of the kids' edition of Your Face Sounds Familiar. He received a trophy, a medal, house and lot, 1 million pesos and a trip for four to Jeju, South Korea. Awra gained recognition when he starred as "MakMak" in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, personally chosen for the role by the show's lead actor Coco Martin.
Wacky Kiray (I Can Do That)
Comedian Wacky Kiray was named the "greatest entertainer" on the first ever edition of celebrity game show I Can Do That. He took home 1 million pesos for his stunning wire balancing act on the grand finals.
Jona Soquite (The Voice Teens)
Jona Soquite from Davao City was named as the grand champion of the first teen edition of The Voice. Coached by Sarah Geronimo, she was determined to help her family raise from poverty at the age of 13.
Donna Cariaga (Funny One)
Donna Cariaga from Baguio City won the second season of Funny One in It's Showtime. She took home the 1 million pesos grand prize for her funny "hugots" about her ex-boyfriend.
Moira dela Torre (Himig Handog 2017)
Moira dela Torre who interpreted the "Titibo-tibo" composed by Libertine Amistoso, took the top prize at Himig Handog 2017 song writing competition. Moira also scored a hit in the song "Malaya".
