Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada is reportedly making a movie with Kapuso comedienne Eugene Domingo. In fact, Jinggoy has expressed his excitement on their upcoming team-up.
Some showbz insiders are already excited for the Jinggoy-Uge loveteam. KAMI learned the movie will have an action-comedy theme and the suggested title was “My Bodyguard.”
The filming of the movie, however, has yet to start because the 54-year-old actor-politician is still waiting for the availability schedule of his leading lady, Eugene Domingo.
Apart from the interesting loveteam, the concept of the movie seemed to be attention-grabbing as well.
According to PEP.ph, the movie is inspired by the much-talked about love affair of Sen. Leila de Lima and her driver Ronnie Dayan.
The publication added that Sen. Jinggoy wanted to the title to be “Basta Driver Sweet Lover” but there is already a film of the same title.
So, the ex-senator is currently brainstorming for a good sub-title. Due to the concept of the movie, ex-Sen. Jinggoy really wanted Uge to be his leading lady.
Gorgy Rula of PEP.ph even pointed out that the “mala-de Lima ang dating” role is perfect for the Kapuso star.
Jinggoy also believes that the 46-year-old comedienne is also perfect for the role.
“Si Uge lang ang pwedeng gumanap ng role na ‘yon, wala nang iba pa! Perfect siya sa role, lalo pa’t magaling siyang mag-English!” Jinggoy said.
If Uge will not be available to do the movie, however, showbiz insiders suggested that the movie project may not push through.
Meanwhile, former senator and presidential son Jinggoy Estrada seemed to have spent the holiday season well.
In fact, the Sandiganbayan recently permitted him to go on a family vacation in Hong Kong.
The trip was Jinggoy’s second travel abroad in “less than four months after regaining liberty,” Inquirer reported. The four-day trip was scheduled from Dec. 26 to Dec. 31.
As for Eugene Domingo, the TV host/actress temporarily ditched her comedic antics and become a dramatic star in a PETA play.
As per PhilStar, Uge portrayed a clinically depressed woman who is pitted against her mother (Sherry Lara) in PETA’s play titled, “’Night, Mother.”
The play will be presented at the PETA Theater Center on Feb. 2 to March 18.
