Dingdong Dantes, Maine Mendoza to get special awards in FAMAS 2017

- The nominees for the 65th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences has been released

- Dingdong Dantes will receive the FPJ Memorial Award

- Maine Mendoza and Ivan Dorschner will be given the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award

The FAMAS awards this year is finally pushing through on December 28, after being postponed for three months.

Originally scheduled for October, the 65th annual honors body finally revealed its list of nominees for the best of 2016 in Philippine cinema.

Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes is set to receive the FPJ Memorial Award. He is also nominated for the Best Actor award for the movie "The Unmarried Wife".

Other nominees for Best Actor are: Daniel Padilla for "Barcelona"; Joshua Garcia for "Vince, Kath, and James"; Joem Bascon for "Kusina"; and Sandino Martin for "Ringgo".

Meanwhile, Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza will receive the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award, together with Kapuso actor Ivan Dorschner.

Other special awards to be given out are:

  • Arturo M. Padua Memorial Award: Ronald King Constantino
  • Dr. Jose Perez Memorial Award: Dolly Ann Carvajal
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Ms. Susan Roces and Ms. Amalia Fuentes
  • Outstanding Producer: Donna Sanchez
