According to a report from ABS-CBN, during Senator Manny Pacquiao's grand celebration of his 39th birthday at his hometown in General Santos city, President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his admiration and approval for the senator.

"You have brought so much pride and joy for being a world boxer. Worthy of emulation by our countrymen. As a senator, you are a true leader," the President said.

"Yong style mo na 'yan gusto kitang gawing presidente," he added.

"Yayariin ko silang lahat," Duterte said.

During Manny's speech he said that he wanted to inspire people and encourage others to put their trust and faith in God.

"Who would have thought that a poor boy from GenSan will become a world boxing champion and now a senator," he said.

"I want to be an inspiration to everyone, huwag sumuko! Huwag mawalan ng pagasa because God has plans for you."

"The happiest birthday ko itong 39th birthday ko dahil nandito ang ating mahal na Presidente. Pareho kami ng advocacy, pagsugpo sa krimen at korapsiyon," Pacquiao said.

President Rodrigo Duterte or most commonly known as Digong at age 71 is the oldest Philippine president.

He assumed the presidency office last June 30, 2016 and his presidential term will end on 2022.

Filipino professional boxer and politician Manny Pacquiao was formally proclaimed as one of the Senators last May 19, 2016.

He is married to Jinkee Pacquiao and they have five children, Emmanuel Jr., Michael Stephen, Mary Divine Grace, Queen Elizabeth and Israel.
