- Jake Cuenca poked fun at his Instagram followers by bluffing a confrontation with costar Gerald Anderson
- “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin” star supposed to be replaced by a look-alike
- Jake praised “Ang Panday” director and costar Coco Martin for being a “very good” filmmaker
Jake Cuenca wanted to break the feed of social media platform, Instagram. That is why the 29-year-old actor took his acting skills to a new level by convincing his more than 400,000 followers that he did not take the news well after he was axed from the teleserye, “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.”
Based on the short clip that KAMI saw on his own Instagram account, Jake confronted his co-actor Gerald Anderson. Jake asked Gerald why he was removed from the TV series.
“Ge, anong ibig sabihin nito?” Jake asked. “Tatanggalin niyo na ako sa show? Sino ipapalit niyo sa akin?”
The confrontation took a hilarious turn when a Jake Cuenca-lookalike entered the scene. In fact, Gerald and Jake were not able to control their laughter and burst out laughing at the end of the clip, Star Cinema noted.
Meanwhile, Jake will once again show that he is a versatile actor as he takes the role of villain Lizardo in the upcoming remake of Carlo J. Caparas’ epic fantasy film, "Ang Panday."
The movie follows the story of Flavio (Coco Martin) whose life is destined to change as he saves humanity from Lizardo’s (Jake) evil deeds of Lizardo (Jake). As per Jake, playing the character of Lizardo was a dream role.
“Everything was prepared for this role and parang lahat ng ideas ko for my dream role, nilagay ko na,” Jake said, as Abante-Tonite quoted. ‘Yung tawa, ‘yung looks, ‘yung kilos, hindi ako ganu’n kumilos.”
The actor also praised Coco for being such a good director, saying they already established a good chemistry together. Jake also expressed his happiness and gratitude for the opportunities, wishing he could still work with Coco again.
“Very good director and like I’ve said, I want to work with him again,” Jake said. “I’m happy na I did his first movie.”
“Marami kaming pinagdaanan ni Coco ever since,” the young Kapamilya actor added.”Sobrang honored ako to do a movie with him and I’d like to do a movie with him again.”
"Ang Panday” is set to premiere on Dec. 25 as part of the MMFF 2017. It also stars Agot Isidro, Albert Martinez, Kylie Verzosa, Mariel de Leon, McCoy de Leon, Elisse Joson, and Awra Briguela, among many others.
KAMI admires Jake Cuenca's versatility as an actor. Since playing a prank (like what Jake did) is like a children's game, KAMI wanted to share a video about your favorite games of the '90s.
