- Jasmin Curtis-Smith was recently spotted at ABS-CBN “Just Love” Christmas party for the press
- Former Kapatid network star revealed there are no talks yet for a network transfer
- Jasmine also clarified why she is losing weight
Ex-TV5 star Jasmine Curtis-Smith recently made an appearance at the “Just Love” Christmas party held at the Dolphy Theater on Dec. 14. The event was organized by ABS-CBN Corporate Communications and was intended for the press.
Since Jasmine is known for being a Kapatid network star, KAMI learned that her recent appearance ignited network transfer rumors. The speculations came after event host Ogie Diaz directly asked if she is finally a Kapamilya.
According to the 23-year-old “Siargao” actress, there are no talks yet if she will indeed become a Kapamilya. Jasmine explained that her appearance was only intended for the promotion of her latest movie, “Siargao.”
"Wala pa naman,” Jasmine responded, as per PEP.ph. “Mga interview lang with Tito Boy [Abunda].”
“May annual visit kasi ako dito sa ABS-CBN para sa mga interview at promos tuwing may pelikula ako,” she added. “Kaya napaka-thankful ko at nakakavisit ako, nakakatawid ako kahit ano pang network ko before.”
As Kapamilya network transfer speculations intensify, rumors have it that Jasmine might work with her older sister, Anne Curtis, in a TV series. However, it remains vague if Jasmine will sign a contract with ABS-CBN.
Earlier this year, Jasmine was also rumored to be a Kapuso. At the time, there were claims saying the young actress will sign a contract with GMA 7 and she will be part of the teleserye, “Mulawin vs. Ravena.”
Unfortunately, the Vidanes Celebrity Marketing (Jasmine’s management company) repudiated the reports, saying she has not signed a contract to any TV network after leaving TV5.
Meanwhile, many also took notice of Jasmine’s slim figure. She was asked if she lost weight because of the movie or because she wanted to compete against her “Siargao” co-star Erich Gonzales’ figure.
“Pagkatapos ng shooting namin, nagtuluy-tuloy na ang pagpayat ko,” Jasmine clarified. “Kasi, wala na akong yaya. Wala na akong driver.”
Jasmine also stressed that the reason behind her weightloss was simple and it is because of the fact that her body is still adjusting to the routine tasks she is doing now.
“Nabigla ang katawan ko sa biyahe, sa pagod ng pagluto, paglaba, pag-alaga ng dalawang aso,” the actress said. “Iyon lang ang sagot doon.”
Jasmine is set to appear in the official MMFF entry, “Siargao,” which is helmed by acclaimed director and Toni Gonzaga’s husband, Paul Soriano. Jasmine will be joining other lead stars — Jericho Rosales and Erich Gonzales.
“Siargao” is set to hit the cinemas on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
KAMI commends Jasmine's acting prowess whether on mainstream or on independent films. Meanwhile, for more celebrity news and entertainment tidbits, check out KAMI's official YouTube channel.
