Following Luis Manzano’s recent social media confirmation that he’s no longer a “Pilipinas Got Talent” host, many waited for the statements of Toni Gonzaga, who is set to replace Manzano on the show. Fortunately, fans will be able to hear Gonzaga’s side of the story.

On an interview that KAMI obtained from, Gonzaga finally broke her silence on being the new host of the sixth season of “Pilipinas Got Talent.” According to the 33-year-old Kapamilya actress and host, she is only a “special host” in the show and it’s very likely that she’ll only do the job for this season.

“I think just for this season,” Gonzaga clarified. “I’m not sure if I’ll be with the show next season. Just for this season, special host lang.”

The “Last Night” star also shared how she got the offer, which actually “came out of nowhere.” The award-winning host confessed that she just got an unexpected call from ABS-CBN boss Direk Lauren Dyogi.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga’s statements came after Manzano responded to an inquiry about Gonzaga as the newest “PGT” host. Manzano confirmed the replacement and said some good things about the singer-actress.

“Sabi ko nga, Toni is Toni,” Manzano said, as previously reported. “It's an upgrade, the way I see it.”

Manzano even said that Gonzaga’s addition will bring some improvement or “betterment” and a “different flavor” to the show. When Gonzaga was asked for any reactions on Manzano’s statement, the Ultimate Multimedia Star that she’s touched with the good things that her friend and fellow “The Voice” host told about her.

“Naks! Di naman,” Gonzaga stated. “Show namin ni Luis yun and ni Billy. We are all family in ABS. We’re here to support and love each other... Be there for each other kung anong show ang i-assign sa atin ng management.”

Gonzaga added that she accepted the offer because she’s not yet doing any shows and there’s no new Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) season yet. She also stressed being friends with the other celebs on the show like Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Robin Padilla and former ABS-CBN president and CEO Freddie M. Garcia aka FMG.

As being one of the best female hosts of her generation, Gonzaga admitted that she’s just shrugging off the comments that compared her to Manzano.

“Sanay na,” Gonzaga admitted. “Sa edad namin, sina-shrug off na lang namin yung mga ganun”

“Wala na, di na ako naaapektuhan sa comparisons,” she continued. “Alam naman namin ni Luis ang strengths and weaknesses namin. I think more than me not being conceited or what, mas confident kami kung ano ang kakayanan namin.”

As for her new experiences as a “PGT” host, Gonzaga confessed that watching the show live is indeed a different experience from watching it on TV. According to Gonzaga, you can see more action, more fun and excitement, and more intense happenings live, making it a fun show to watch.
