Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are proving to be a force in Vietnam's entertainment scene as they receive nominations for the country's 2017 Blue Star Awards.
Kathryn is in line to win the Best Foreign Actress award. She will have friendly competition with fellow Filipino actresses Meg Imperial and Andrea Torres. Eight other foreign actresses are also nominated.
On the other hand, Daniel also got a nod for the top acting award for foreigners. He is competing against JC de Vera, Mikael Daez, and six others for Best Foreign Actor.
Three Filipino TV dramas are nominated for Favorite Foreign TV Show. These are ABS-CBN's "Pangako Sa'Yo" and "Moon of Desire" and GMA7's "Sana ay Ikaw na Nga".
Kathryn and Daniel have developed a growing fanbase in Vietnam. In January 2016, the pair even had a fans day in Ho Chi Minh City. Fans lined up to get KathNiel's authograph.
They also won Best Foreign Actress and Best Foreign Actor in the 2015 Face of the Year Awards for their roles in "Got to Believe". The Vietnamese awards are determined through public voting.
