Vice Ganda fans are definitely excited for his upcoming MMFF offering, “Gandarrappido! The Revenger Squad!” To add more excitement, Ganda recently revealed on “It’s Showtime” that co-star Pia Wurtzbach had slapped him really hard in the movie.

During the noontime show’s Dec. 5 episode, Ganda shared the good news that his upcoming MMFF movie has been given a “Graded B” rating by the Cinema Evaluation Board. The CEB is considered the film evaluating body of the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Things took an interesting turn when fellow host Ryan Bang started the conversation about Ganda’s upcoming film. Based on the video that KAMI obtained from ABS-CBN Entertainment’s official YouTube channel, Bang praised Ganda’s movie, saying it’s his most beautiful and the most fun movie to date.

Co-host Jhong Hilario then asked Bang about his favorite scene in Ganda’s movie trailer. Bang revealed that it was the “Pak Ganern” scene where Miss Universe 2015 winner Pia Wurtzbach and Vice Ganda had a slapping encounter.

It was then the moment when the six-time Phenomenal Box-office star shared the story behind that funny scene. Ganda even told the madlang people to watch out for the deleted scenes at the end of the movie.

Wurtzbach, on the other hand, revealed that the scene became real because she slapped the 41-year-old TV host/actor so hard. Ganda added that Wurtzbach’s slap was made during a practice take and not on cam or during take.

“Nakakatawa, nung sinampal niya [Wurtzbach] ako, wala pang take,” Ganda shared. “First shooting day namin na dalawa… first naming maghaharap. Nung sampalan scene, hindi niya ako masampal.”

According to Ganda, their director told Wurtzbach to repeat the slap because it did not hit him. It even came to a point when Ganda held the hand of the beauty queen and instructed her to slap him hard, which Wurtzbach indeed followed.

“Pag sasampalin niya ako, ‘Pak! Cut!’” Ganda added, “Sasabihin ng director, ‘Pia, tamaan mo.’ Tapos sabi ko, hinawakan ko kamay niya… sabi ko, ‘Pia, tamaan mo ako. Okay lang, lakasan mo. Sabi niya, opo.’ Pagtanggal ko ng kamay, sinampal niya ako!”

Ganda then told Wurtzbach that they weren’t filming the said scene yet. It was more like a rehearsal take for the actors.

Ganda added that Wurtzbach did really hit him hard. “Ang lakas talaga girl eh. Ang botox ko napunta sa leeg ko,” he told Wurtzbach.

Ganda, however, did get back on Pia but it was on camera. Despite being slapped so hard, Ganda also praised Wurtzbach’s performance in the movie.

Meanwhile, “Gandarrappido! The Revenger Squad!” is Wurtzbach’s first movie while for Ganda, it’s his second Graded B film after “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” in 2013. The upcoming film also stars Daniel Padilla, Karla Estrada, Ejay Falcon, Loisa Andalio and RK Bagatsing.

“Gandarrappido! The Revenger Squad!” is scheduled to hit the theaters on Dec. 25. The film is directed by highly acclaimed director Bb. Joyce Bernal.

KAMI believes that Ganda's upcoming film will be a hit to many Filipino fans.
