As stated by Senator Sonny Angara on Tuesday,

President Duterte has nominated Sen Miriam Defensor Santiago the highest civilian award in the Philippines.

She stated,

“The late Senator Miriam deserves no less than the President’s official endorsement for the nation’s recognition of her exemplary contribution as a public servant,”

President Duterte sent a letter to Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III for approval. As Sen Santiago deserves the award.
