GMA's "Eat Bulaga!" is the longest running noontime show in the Philippines. It was first aired on July 30, 1979, running for already 38 years, and recently celebrated the show's anniversary last July.

Ruby Rodriguez is one of the regular hosts of the noontime show, she started hosting Eat Bulaga! since 1990.

Ruby was once a pre-school teacher before she entered showbiz. Her first showbiz stint was in Okey Ka Fairy Ko! together with Vic Sotto and Aiza Seguerra.

The issue of the AlDub love team involving Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza has been making the rounds lately.

Solid AlDub fans were infuriated by the controversies involving their idols and also the rumored possibility of AlDub's split up.

Since Eat Bulaga! has not yet released an official statement about the issue, they tend to give meaning and connect things that are posted on social media especially by the hosts.

Last December 2, Saturday, Ruby posted something about "loyalty" on her Instagram post and it quickly caught the attention of readers.

It misled some readers because her post on Twitter was cut short.

She wrote:

Some AlDub fans assumed that Ruby's post was targeting Maine Mendoza, since the latter already left the country and according to reports will not be present in Eat Bulaga! for the whole month of December.

Netizens bashed the 51-year-old TV host on Twitter.

Some reports say that there were also talks about Maine transferring networks.

In the year 2015, the phenomenon of AlDub's love team started and it brought great success to Eat Bulaga's show.

Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza were accidentally paired on an episode of Eat Bulaga! and they became a hit unexpectedly.

The love team has helped the show to garner high-ratings because of their solid fans and supporters.
