- Ateneo De Manila University won the UAAP Season 80 Men's Basketball championship
- The Blue Eagles took the crown from last year's winner De La Salle University
- The Green Archers salute their longtime archrivals by lighting up their campus in blue
It's great day for collegiate basketball fans as De La Salle and Ateneo cagers delivered an intense rivalry on the hard court on Sunday, December 3.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles emerged victorious, 88-86, in a nail-biting Game 3 championship of UAAP Season 80.
Though their rivalry is legendary, the sportsmanship of both campuses is something to be proud of.
Tonight, within an hour of the Blue Eagles claiming the championship crown from the Green Archers, DLSU honored their greatest nemesis by lighting their Taft Avenue campus in their rivals color.
On Game 2, the Ateneo community showed the same courtesy for La Salle's win by standing up and applauding their rival's victory.
KAMI believes it's a great day indeed when the hardest fought battles bring out the best in sportsmanship. Congrats to both teams!
