- The former 90s idol said she did everything to save her marriage, but they're both miserable already
On Karen Davila's talk show "Headstart", singer-actress Sunshine Cruz talked about how she turned her life around after hitting rock bottom in her marriage with Cesar Montano.
The 40-year-old actress has become an inspiration to many single moms and women in their 40s for being impressively fit and healthy.
She shared how she constantly gets asked for advice for diet and exercise on Instagram.
But beyond food and physical activities, the actress emphasized loving oneself as the start of being healthy and happy.
Cruz said she "looked unhealthy" during the last years of her marriage with Montano. She weighed only 110 pounds and was extremely thin.
The former husband and wife got married in 2000 and have 3 children. They separated in 2013 because of Montano's infidelity. The actress has already filed for annulment in 2014.
After freeing herself from an unhappy marriage, Cruz started exercising and eating properly.
She said she realized she made her world revolve around one person and decided to focus on herself instead.
The former 90s teen star advised exercising at least three times a week, with an hour every day.
"Mahalin mo muna ang sarili mo. If matanggap at mahalin mo ang sarili mo, then it will follow naman, meron nang magmamahal sa'yo, definitely," said Cruz.
Cruz celebrated her first anniversary with boyfriend Macky Mathay.
