Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla recently posted a picture of a trophy that she received from Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines Inc.
KAMI saw this from her Instagram account. She was awarded for being a breastfeeding advocate. Earlier as she gave birth to Isabella, it was her problem when she cannot produce enough milk. But knowing what a mother's milk can give, she pushed her way to give her baby pure breastmilk.
"Thank you so much Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines Inc. for the recognition my greatest achievement is breastfeeding @mariaisabelladepadilla my journey was not easy at all. I never had a lot of milk but to this day my baby is purely breastfed. I did it Isabella was bit tongue tied and was not getting enough milk she was underweight for a long time. I had to UP my game just so that she would get enough milk. I ate my way to get milk that is why I am fat. I am fat for a reason... my milk depended on it. There was a time that I would eat even if I wasn’t hungry just so that I would have milk to pump. I pumped every 2 hours religiously. I didn’t give her my pumped milk in a bottle I gave it to her through a supplemental nursing system or SNS. So she still latched at every feed. I took all...no I overdosed in all lactation anything lactation chocolates, lactation supplements, lactation cookies... name it... as long as it was good for lactation i was on it!!!! I had sore nippIes, i got bleb.... there were times I was discouraged, several times I was disappointed on my milk output but I had the support of my husband. Our lifestyle revolved around the milk production... everything was for the milk. Not once did he make me feel that I was fat often times he would even bring me food whenever he ate out Mommies, it can be done!!! If I did it... you can do it too! I also would like to thank Nurse Joyce for cheering us on from the beginning. The late night house calls and overseas advice I still get until now. To all lactation consultants, nurses and midwives, Thank you! I’d like to end this by introducing myself... I am Mariel Padilla, breastfeeding advocate THANK YOU!" she captioned.
KAMI admires Mariel Padilla on her desire to give her daughter a pure breastmilk. Good job!
