The wait is finally over. South African beauty queen Demi-Leigh is our Next Miss Universe!
Demi-Leigh is the second South African to have won the title after Margaret Gardiner (1978), ending a nearly four-decade wait for her country in one of the world’s famous pageants.

The 22-year-old beauty queen was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday during the finals held at The AXIS Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
French Iris Mittenaere, who won the Title in Manila last January, turned over her crown to Demi-Leigh.
Being a lady with beauty and brains, she is a graduate of Business Management at North West University,
The proud Miss Universe had visions to train women with self-defense, along with providing workshops.
Demi-Leigh’s passion is to continually help other women overcome their fears.
Columbia’s Laura Gonzalez was placed first runner-up, while Jamaica’s Davina Bennett placed second runner-up.
Our very own Philippines’ Rachel Peters finished in the Top 10.
