According to the preamble of the Code of Ethics of Teachers:
Teachers are duly licensed professionals who possess dignity and reputation with high moral values as well as technical and professional competence. In the practice of their profession, they strictly adhere to, observe and practice this set of moral and ethical principles, standards and values.
The society has high expectations towards educators. Basically, all they need to do is to "walk their talk''.
They should be the role models to what they are teaching to their students. Teachers at all times should be an epitome of what is morally correct. and that is one big responsibility on their shoulders.
Our letter sender did her best to be that Educator who stands for her moral and ethical principles.
But, teachers are also humans who commit mistakes. Along the way, struggles and challenges will hit them and made them think If they are still willing to do what is morally correct even If her own happiness and freedom is at stake.
This is a story of a teacher who always do what is right, until one time she started to question herself, Is this really the right thing to do?
