Marion Aunor opens up about her music career

After three years in the music industry, Marion Aunor is still optimistic and grateful for the blessings she has been given – the most recent being the music video of her EDM song “Unbound.”

In an interview, Marion shared that the song was inspired by how she remains as a struggling singer-songwriter in the business, even though she has already released her second album entitled Marion.

Hindi pa ako talaga sa peak ko (I’m really not at my peak) so a lot of people always give me advice. Minsan solicited, minsan unsolicited. Pero ayun nakalagay sa song ko na (but as the song goes,) ‘I’m tired if all the voices in my head telling me what I can and I cannot be.’ Just all of the thoughts that are going through my mind as someone who’s struggling in the industry.”

She hopes that through her song, she can inspire people to stay positive and determined despite the naysayers.

“‘Unbound’ kasi unshackle yourself, parang unlimited ang possibilities for the future,” she explained.

She, Morissette, and Alex Gonzaga are featured in the song’s music video. It was initially supposed to be a solo, but after PR Roxy Liquigan expressed that the song gave a “girl power-kind of anthem” vibe, they started looking for other girls. Eventually, they narrowed the choices down to the trio mentioned above.

Marion welcomes the idea of ‘Unbound’ as a girl anthem. Furthermore, she’s also open to the possibility of being part of a girl group, if ever she was given the chance.

“I think it would be nice for people to see fellow celebrities are joining in one song and trying to inspire their fans collectively.” she says, “I think okay ang ganon and na-e-enjoy ata ng mga fans.”

The music video is scheduled to be released this May.
