Actress Maria Isabel Lopez may be facing suspension or even cancellation of her license after she shared on Facebook how she used the exclusive lane for delegates of the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
KAMI learned this through Rappler.
On Saturday, Lopez told her Facebook followers how she removed the divider cones so she could drive along the ASEAN lane.
She even shared two videos where you can hear her celebrating while she's driving along the special lane. In one of the videos, Lopez can be heard saying, "Be like Maria!"
According to Lopez's post, other motorists followed behind her.
Traffic has been more horrendous along EDSA since a lane was exclusively reserved for ASEAN delegates.
Lopez may have avoided traffic on Saturday, but now she may be in trouble.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that what Lopez did was a "serious breach of security."
According to MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago, they will be recommending the suspension or cancellation of Lopez's driver's license to the Land Transportation Office.
Only emergency vehicles are allowed to use the ASEAN lane aside from the official delegates.
