An eight-year-old girl was found naked, her skull almost crushed, in a ranch in Barangay Tambler, General Santos City last Friday.
Her family was hoping to celebrate her birthday that day. Instead, they found her dead.
Her father wants the death penalty for whoever killed his daughter.
"Mas maganda kung i-death penalty. Dapat talaga i-death penalty, kawawa naman iyong anak ko," said the father.
KAMI learned this story through ABS-CBN News.
The police has already apprehended a suspect named Mark Engkong. He was caught after police found him washing his clothes which had traces of blood.
According to Police Senior Insp. Fernando Manuel, chief of Police Station 7, the suspect confessed to the crime and even pointed to where he hid the body.
"Umamin ito sa amin kaya nalaman namin na sa rantsohan niya inilibing iyong bangkay ng bata. Para sa amin, personally, walang kapatawaran itong ginawa ng suspek," said Manuel as quoted by ABS-CBN News.
However, according to the same report by ABS-CBN, the suspect told them a different story.
The suspect said he was ordered by two other people to take the girl. He said they took her to an empty lot. He said his two companions molested the girl.
The suspect, according to ABS-CBN News, denied the crime to the media.
"Pero habang ginagawa nila iyon, tumakas na ako. Hindi ako ang gumawa niyan," he said.
The family is still in shock with what happened to their little girl.
