Viva Artists Agency, which handles the career of James Reid and Nadine Lustre, issued a statement against the unauthorized use of JaDine's photo for the campaign of vice presidential bet Leni Robredo.
The management company clarified that the photo meme was created without the consent of the agency and the artists.
Supporters of Rep Robredo used the promotional photo of JaDine for their upcoming movie This Time.
At the bottom of the photo, the text "Robredo ang Vice President ko (Robredo is my Vice President)" could be read.
This is the full official statement released by Viva Artists Agency:
"This is to inform the public that Viva Artists Agency, Inc. (VAA) and its artist, James Reid and Nadine Lustre are not endorsing, supporting nor affiliated with any candidate for the 2016 Philippine elections.
"Any materials featuring the name, image or likeness of Mr. Reid and Miss Lustre endorsing or supporting any political candidate were released and exhibited without the consent of Viva Artists Agency, Mr. Reid and Miss Lustre."
Other celebrities have also issued statements against the unauthorized use of their photos as political endorsement memes.
Photos of Andi Eigenmann and Liza Soberano were used to support the campaign of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. Both actresses have already denied they were endorsing the Davao leader.
