You may have heard the terms "lodi, werpa and petmalu" either from teenagers or in social media.
For those who are still wondering what these words mean, they are today’s colloquial terms made up of inverted words.
For "lodi" it means idol, "werpa, pawer (power) and "petmalu" means malupet.
These colloquial terms had been a trend in 70's s a part of slang.
Joey de Leon gets the throwback feels every time he hears of these words.
“Kami, nung panahon ng Iskul Bukol, puro baligtad ang salita namin,” he said.
“Kami nga, nag-uusap nang mabilis, “bomalabs” (for malabo) and “kemalaks” (for malaki).
As a matter of fact, the term dabarkads which they use in "Eat Bulaga!" is an example of this trend.
