ABS – CBN is known on its entertaining television programs that relates into real life situations. Therefore, it's not impossible that their programs often earned nominations in lots of awarding categories.
Last October 16, 2017, ABS – CBN’s kiddie fantasy program, Wansapanataym was being nominated as Best TV Movie/Mini-series category in the 6th International Emmy Kids Awards. This was proclaimed during its press conference.
Wansapantaym episode was entitled "Candy's Crush." The episodic program aired seven-week mini-series played by the love team of Loisa Andalio (as Candy) and Jerome Ponce (as Paolo).
The story runs about a simple woman named Candy who fell in love with Paolo who is a campus heartthrob.
Wansapanataym was the only Filipino program nominated in the 2017 International Emmy Kids Awards.
Based from the Emmy's website, there are 28 nominees in 7 categories came from 16 different countries.
The winners of the International Emmy Kids Awards will be declared on April 10, 2018 held in Cannes, France.
Wansapantaym is considered as one of ABS-CBN's long-running television shows in the Philippines. It started in 1997 until the present.
The show had an episodic layout. It features different stories that combined fantasy and reality. The program's concept was being connected to real life situations. Wherein it teaches not only children but also all the viewers about good values.
Together with ABS - CBN's broadcast program TV Patrol was nominated for the News and Current Affairs category. Also, Kapamilya actor Zanjoe Marudo receives a nomination as Best Actor for an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya where he played the role of a man with schizophrenia.
