Pia Wurtzbach throws ceremonial pitch at Mets-Reds Game

Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach visited Queens, New York on Thursday, April 28 (Manila time) for her first ever baseball game.

Queens is known to have a huge Filipino population, so the Mets often hold Filipino Heritage Night promos in their games.

The reigning Miss Universe was honored to throw the first pitch before the match between the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds. Mets’ pitcher Noah Syndergaard helped Queen P loosen up and practice her throwing skills in front of the dugout.

Sporting her own Mets’ jersey, Pia took the high mound and made her pitch. Her throw was a bit short, but the entire team was graciously appreciative of the effort. Pia also got to hang around with other Mets’ players and with Mr. Met, the team’s mascot. The Mets went on to win against the Reds that day.

The beauty queen was back in New York after her trip to Peru to attend a pageant engagement. Pia seemed to be having the time of her life in the Big Apple as suggested by recent posts on Twitter and Instagram by his suitor, Dr. Mikhail “Mike” Varshavski.

People magazine’s 2015 “Sexiest Doctor Alive” captioned his Instagram post:

“Yesterday, helicoptering around #nyc #staycation [Pia Wurtzbach],” Dr Mike captioned his Instagram post.

Dr. Mike earlier revealed that he is dating the reigning Miss Universe. On the other hand, Pia only revealed the real score between her and Dr. Mike in a local late night show in the Philippines.
